The worlds of video games and sneakers will converge again on this curious Mega Man sneaker that's releasing this year.
Apparently UBIQ, which has produced its own sneakers over the years, has teamed up with online Japanese retailer SuperGroupies for the shoe. The model puts sprites of Mega Man all over the canvas upper, has an e-tank icon on the tongue patch, and uses the original "Rockman" name on the packaging. There's even mention of Capcom on the box, confirming that this isn't some sort of unauthorized team up.
It appears that this strange shoe will only be available in Japan. SuperGroupies looks to be the only shop selling the Mega Man sneakers–they'll be taking reservations starting on Feb. 20 ahead of the wider launch that's coming in June.
