How will Kevin Durant's choice to stick with Nike impact his marketability?

Kevin Durant's sneaker free agency is officially over. And now that he's officially sticking with the Swoosh, people can start playing Monday morning quarterback with what this means for Durant, Nike, and Under Armour. Footwear News talked to several industry experts to get their take. Read what they had to say below:

"Signing someone isn't the story, keeping someone is. We work on the assumption that Nike plus Kevin Durant equals more than the sum of its parts, but there's a negative multiplier effect when someone moves from one brand to another." - Robert Passikoff, founder of Brand Keys Inc.

"From the Nike perspective, it is good on many fronts. They have tied up the three greatest players currently on the court, and own the game without a costly and rigid NBA sponsorship. Furthermore, you would have to be 18 to 19 years old to have any viable memories of Jordan on the court; Nike needs to fill that role regardless of the success of the Air Jordan brand." - Richard Prenderville, CEO of The Peloton Marketing Group.
