Since debuting in 1999, Ludacris has made a name for himself in music and film. In that time, he's established a global fanbase, which apparently includes Michael Jordan and his kids.
On the song 'This Has Been My World' from his new album Ludaversal, Luda raps, “Michael sending me Jordans every first of the month / Said his kids love me, ain’t paid for a pair of kicks since.”
When asked by MTV whether or not the lines are accurate, the rapper confirmed his Jordan hook-up.
“Absolutely,” Luda told MTV. “I got a call and I saw him in person. This was, of course, a while back — ’cause I’ve been respectfully receiving Jordans for a long time. But Michael Jordan definitely told me that [his] kids love [my] music, and it made him listen to some of the music. From there, you kind of get put on this list, where you can get free Jordans.”
Though he's been successful for more than 15 years, Luda is still humbled by his relationship with Jordan.
“I don’t think there’s too much of a better reward than to receive free Jordans. Like, what in the f–k?! To this day, that is amazing to me.”
Of course, if you're a reader of Celebrity #SoleWatch, Luda's connect doesn't come as a surprise. He's often spotted wearing the latest and greatest the brand has to offer.
