These days it's common practice for high end brands to riff on classic sneaker silhouettes.
Some of the results have been more celebrated than others, and there's definitely a fine art to properly executing such a shoe. Saint Laurent Paris has gotten a pass with their Jordan 1 remix, as has Common Projects for its premium take on the Stan Smith. Showing how not to do it is Louis Vuitton and its new Trailblazer sneaker. The design uses elephant print-looking pattern around the back end, and has a shape that's more Jordan Flight 45 than it is Jordan 3. As it's a Louis Vuitton shoe, it will cost you: there is one version priced at $995 and one at $1,990. For those that don't have anything better to do with their hard-earned money, the Louis Vuitton Trailblazer is available now.
