Lil' Wayne x Supra Footwear

After many rumors and much speculation, Supra Footwear has officially announced an exclusive partnership with rapper Lil' Wayne. The skate company will manufacture and distribute a full collection of new footwear designs overseen and inspired by Wayne himself. Supra cites Wayne's chart-topping music as a source of inspiration for the new partnership, while Wayne has embraced the company by wearing the Skytop since its 2007 introduction.

“Lil' Wayne is a true style icon and a trendsetter, said Matt Fontana, Global Vice President of Brands for Supra parent company ONE Distribution. "He’s perfectly suited for a collection with Supra because he embodies the same spirit that drives the brand: he’s a leader, not a follower. We’re ecstatic about creating a range of shoes with Lil' Wayne.”

The Lil' Wayne x Supra Collection will launch in early 2013, with a preview set for this summer's PROJECT Trade Show in Las Vegas.

I hate Supra....all their shoes are ugly & have almost the exact same silhouette
To be honest, like any other shoe company...it's an approach that they've been looking forward to. You can't hate or bash on Supra....they are just trying to make it like any other enterprise. Remember when Greedy Genius did a collab with Bun B? It's all about the attention. Like Jeremy Scott to Adidas, or Kanye to Nike, even Swizz Beats to Reebok...they all have to get somewhere in the market.
