Attention NBA players: if you're guarding LeBron James, don't wear his sneakers while you're doing it. According to James, when opponent wear his shoes it gives him a mental edge.

He said so when discussing his sneakers for GQ's "Grails" series in the video above, explaining that he feels how Michael Jordan may have felt when going against players donning his footwear.

"When I was a kid and I used to see guys wear MJ's shoes when they played against MJ I'm like, 'Oh MJ got a little mental edge over those guys,'" LeBron says.

"If you just a guy that's just like, you actually just go to Foot Locker or somewhere," he continues, "you just get a pair of 'Brons and you want to wear 'em on a Tuesday night vs. me? I'ma bust your ass. Straight up."

James also shows off his "grail" sneakers in the clip, an exclusive pair of his first signature model, the Nike Air Zoom Generation, that he wore in his first NBA game.
