It's a solid line up this week for Kicks on Cards, and we start off with a shoe making its first appearance to the weekly collection with the adidas Mutombo II. The Mutombo II from 1994 was the second and unfortunately last signature shoe for Dikembe Mutombo from adidas. The shoe had similar design elements as Deke's first shoe, with the same geometric shaped, African inspired detailing and the #55 shield logo, as well as a big puffy tongue. Dikembe's first shoe is rumored to be making a comeback from adidas Originals which would be awesome, but there are at least a few of us that wouldn't mid seeing his second return, also. On the second card this week we see a younger Jason Kidd in his Nike Air Flightposite PE. Kidd's version of the Flightposite from 1999 featured a white Foam upper with a purple outsole and his #32 embroidered at the top of the black zippered shroud.
We then go from one of 1999's best Nike Basketball shoes to one of 1990's best: the Air Force V, worn here by Randy White. The Air Force V was Nike's premier performance basketball shoe in 1990, featuring a super high cut for maximum support and a visible Air unit. The versatile shoe was worn by players at every position from point guard to center.
We finish up the week with shoes from the dynamic duo of Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan, with Scottie himself in his Nike Air More Uptempo and Hubert Davis in the Air Jordan IX. Have a favorite shoe this week?
