We're one day away from what most will consider one of the best Air Jordan retro releases of the year with the Air Jordan XII "Playoffs", so this week's Kicks on Cards Collection brings to you three cards featuring this highly anticipated shoe. First up is, of course, Michael Jordan wearing them while going up for the jam during the '97 NBA Playoffs against Dikembe Mutombo and the Atlanta Hawks.
The next two "Playoffs" sightings come from lesser expected sources. Who's Johnny Taylor? Good question. Johnny was the 17th pick in the 1997 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic and played for the Magic and Denver Nuggets sparingly in his brief four year NBA career. At least he got himself immortalized posing in the Air Jordan XII for his '97-'98 Upper Deck card. The next "Playoffs" sighting is on the feet of Mickael Pietrus in what we can assume are the 2004 retros. Pietrus was never officially on Jordan Brand, but he did manage to rock a few memorable J's including his PE Air Jordan V.
To finish out the Weekly Collection's standard total of five cards, first we have Grant Hill in that lovely teal Pistons uniform in the FILA GH5, which was his last shoe with FILA. Last up is Juwan Howard in the classic Nike Zoom Flight '95.
Good luck to all those hoping to grab a pair of the Air Jordan XII "Playoffs" tomorrow!
