Since it's NBA Finals time, we'll take a look back to an important Finals in NBA history, with Michael Jordan's first championship. On June 12th, 1991 MJ took home his first title against the Los Angeles Lakers, with the Bulls winning the series 4 games to 1. As many of you probably know, the shoe on Michael's feet for that series was the Air Jordan VI "Infrared". On the first card in this week's Kicks On Cards collection we see a moment from the '91 Finals with a look at the Air Jordan VI, as well as Scottie Pippen's Nike Air Flight Lite, and even (the man who taught the NBA everything it knows about flopping) Vlade Divac in a pair of fresh Champion basketball shoes.
Next up is a fabulously designed Skybox card with Willie Anderson in the Nike Air Flight High from 1989. Everybody knows and loves the Air Flight '89 Mid, but its equally as awesome high top counterpart is often forgotten. Also worth noting is that the Flight '89 Mid and High were the first of Nike's long line of "Flight" models. The Flight '89 High has never seen a return with a retro release. So please, Nike, what are you waiting for?!
To finish up the collection we go from Andy Toolson (who??) in the classic Reebok Omni Zone Pump, to good ol' Sheed in his standard Air Force One, to Walter McCarty in the Nike Air Signature Player -- who he may have borrowed from teammate Paul Pierce.
Have a favorite this week? Are you old enough to remember Michael's first Championship? Any Andy Toolson fans out there? Discuss in the comments below!
