Arguably the star of the offseason, Kevin Durant has improved his stock with headline-grabbing performances in star-studded pickup games across the country over the last few months. Looking to give back to the city where he plays professional ball, Durant is hosting a charity game at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City tonight. He'll be joined by several of the league's top stars, including LeBron James, Chris Paul, Amar'e Stoudemire, John Wall, Russell Westbrook and several of his other Thunder teammates.
Prior to the game, Nike Basketball caught these images of a new shoe Durant broke out for the occasion. What you're seeing is a NERF-inspired colorway of the upcoming Nike Zoom KD IV, complete with custom packaging, hoop and NERF KD35 ball. An official partnership between NERF and Nike Basketball, the shoe is reflective of Kevin's early days of dunking on a NERF rim, something that mostly all of us can identify with. KD's genuine youthful love for the game is captured with a playful multi-color look that may very well make the NERF IV Durant's most sought after shoe to date.
As for availability, we're unsure of any definite news there, but look out for a possible limited release at select retailers in the coming months. We'll continue to provide you with updates when we hear something.
