The coveted Just Don x Air Jordan 2 apparently almost ended up as a regal black and gold sneaker, per the sample shown here.
The shoe wears the same quilted look as the eventual retail release, but the leather here is a straight black. More notable is the gold detailing on the sneaker, which "didn't pass safety regulations" according to Don C. Before the Don C x Air Jordan 2 arrived at retail there were images of an alternate grey pair, but this black and gold has never been seen before.
The black/gold Don C x Air Jordan 2 was shown off by Don C himself, who took the above photo of a friend wearing them at Nike's Sneakerball event.
