On Friday, Michigan State and North Carolina honor Veterans Day by facing off on the deck of the USS Carl Vinson. The "Carrier Classic" will help kick off the NCAA basketball season in grand fashion, with President Obama in attendance along with honorary captains Magic Johnson and James Worthy.
To commemorate the occasion, Nike and Jordan Brand are providing their teams with special jerseys and sneakers. Both teams will wear jerseys incorporating digital camouflage, with "U.S.A." embroidered on the back instead of players names. These jerseys, using Nike Baskeball's new FA11 NCAA uniforms, are made with an average of 80% recycled polyester.
The Michigan State Spartans will wear a special digi-camo Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Supreme, while the UNC Tarheels are issued a University Blue edition of the Air Jordan 8.0
