When the Los Angeles Clippers hosted the Memphis Grizzlies Thursday night, both teams paid tribute to the ABA's 45th Anniversary by wearing throwback Hardwood Classics uniforms. The uniforms, made in conjunction with the league's official outfitter adidas, feature designs from the team’s storied past or as originally worn by the former ABA franchises in their geographic region. The Clippers represented the Los Angeles Stars in a power blue, red and white ensemble, while the Grizzlies were decked out in the gold, green and white of the Memphis Tams. With the Clippers expected to participate in Hardwood Classics night several times throughout the season, the Jordan Brand laced him with a special pair of "Stars" CP3.Vs.
CP3's Hardwood Classics kicks feature a metallic University Blue synthetic base, complemented by Varsity Red hits on the laces, Jumpman branding, CP3 logo on the tongue and padding. A red stripe also circles a light blue midsole, which is finished off with a mostly white outsole.
Check out a few game shots of Chris playing in the Hardwood Classics CP3.V below, as well as a closer look at the shoe that he shared on Twitter.
The Clippers will next wear their Hardwood Classics uniforms on Saturday, February 18th, when they host the San Antonio Spurs.
