Jim Harbaugh Thought a Call From Michael Jordan Was a Prank

He needed a change of khakis.

In a stunning development, Michigan will be the first team ever outfitted by the Jordan Brand when Nike takes over the school's rights next fall. This was announced by Michael Jordan himself through the brand's Jumpman23 Twitter account earlier this month, but only after Jordan had a chance to reach out to head coach Jim Harbaugh.

During a Thursday presser, Harbaugh recalled the phone call he received from Jordan to discuss the brand's first ever football partnership, which caught the Wolverines' leading man by surprise.

"My phone rang and it was a number I didn't know," Harbaugh told reporters. "I said 'hello,' but I didn't catch the whole name. You know how sometimes a cell phone cuts out? I got part of it and said 'excuse me, the phone cut out, who is this?' And he said 'this is Michael Jordan."

But even a championship winning coach was hesistant to believe that the hoop legend was actually on the other end of the call.

"I said 'come on, come on. Who is this really?' ... 'He said, this is Michael Jordan.' I said 'the real Michael Jordan?"

And yes, it was the real Michael Jordan. Shortly after, the team agreed to become the first to wear Jumpman-branded gear on college fields.

"(My wife) Sarah was very, very impressed that Michael Jordan called me," Harbaugh added. "(Wearing 'Jumpman' gear) is going to be awesome."
