Since 2004, Major League Baseball has celebrated the anniversary of Jackie Robinson's major league debut with an event known as Jackie Robinson Day. On April 15th, all uniformed players and umpires wear the #42 to salute Robinson becoming the first African American major league baseball player of the modern era in 1947. Some players have even extended the Jackie tribute to their footwear, including Atlanta Braves All-Star right fielder Jason Heyward.
In tomorrow's game against the Milwaukee Brewers, Heyward will be wearing this special Jackie Robinson Day make-up of the Nike Air Swingman. The model is an upcoming release from the Ken Griffey Jr. signature line that will feature 360-Max Air cushioning. For Heyward, a cleated version in attempt to sweep the series.
