Kanye's Not Making Red Sneakers Anymore But Ja Rule Is

For all the Murda Inc fans out there.

Ja Rule probably isn't the most influential rapper that a footwear company could tap for a sneaker collaboration.

And yet, here we are in 2015 with Steve Madden following up on his blockbuster Iggy Azalea collection with a range of five sneakers created in conjunction with the man also known as Jeffrey Atkins. The most interesting of the bunch is the above, which has a very familiar looking all-red upper to it (to be fair, the shoe doesn't go completely "Red October").

Will Madden, like previous Ja Rule collaborators, draw the ire of Rule nemesis 50 Cent with this collection? It's possible–he told Footwear News that his favorite Ja Rule song was "New York," the same track that caused 50 to send shots at Fat Joe and Jadakiss. Keep that in mind when you're trying to figure out if you need the Ja Rule x Steve Madden sneakers in your life.
