When the first pictures of the Olive 5s hit the Internet, many sneakerheads mistakenly, if understandably, thought they could be an Undefeated collaboration. At the time, the green and orange color combination had only been seen on the Undefeated 4s, and the distressed upper found on this 5 made it a logical connection.

They may not have been a collab, but the Olive 5s were a part of the short-lived “LS” [Lifestyle] line. The non-traditional colorways from this line, priced $10 higher than standard models, were released with full collections with matching apparel.

Unfortunately, the gear wasn’t nearly as coveted as the kicks, and many of the mom-and-pop shops that received it made customers purchase a piece of apparel if they wanted to buy the sneakers because shops were required by Jordan Brand to take the apparel along with the sneakers. To help move the merchandise, some retailers priced it at 50 percent off. While the apparel may be long forgotten, the Olive 5 remains a low-key hit from the mid-2000s.
