It was a bittersweet Sunday for the Boston Celtics and the Garden faithful. While locked in another classic battle with the rival Miami Heat, news of a torn right ACL for point guard Rajon Rondo started to make rounds. Oblivious to the devastating news that would be delivered post-game, the Celtics players put forth a spirited effort, outlasting the defending champions 100-98 in double overtime.
One of the players expected to step up in Rondo's absence is Jeff Green, who made his presence felt in yesterday's win. Green scored 11 points in the game, including an emphatic poster dunk over All-Star Heat power forward Chris Bosh.
Midway through the final quarter, Green received a pass from Leandro Barbosa at the top of the perimeter, cut through the lane and threw down a vicious one-hander on a waiting Bosh.
For the dunk, "Uncle Jeff" took off in a Green/White Celtics colorway of the new Nike Hyperdisruptor. The latest shoe in the 'Hyper' series features Hyperfuse construction, Zoom cushioning and a unique molded heel counter for stability.
