It's no secret that NYC has historically been the most important sneaker city in the world.

It's been a hub for the culture and the home to plenty of retailers that changed the game. But is it still on top? Discussing the Big Apple's sneaker scene are Russ Bengtson and DJ Clark Kent in the latest episode of "From the Ground Up" over on ESPN. After all, if anyone knows the history of footwear here in NYC, it's these two.

Russ and Clark both argue that NYC is still the best to do it, thanks in part to the city's role in blowing up the Air Jordan line. Watch the clip below.
