This Version of the 'Knicks' Foamposite is Just an Old Sample

It's not quite Spike Lee's PE, but here's what is believed to be an early look at the upcoming 'Knicks' Nike Air Foamposite One.

Rumored to be releasing this fall, this pair arrives with a crimson Foamposite shell and black along the collar, eyestay and toebox. Royal works the laces, while a lighter shade of blue lines the interior and accents the stripes on the pull-tabs. A translucent outsole caps off the look below.

If these are indeed this year's 'Knicks' release, it is a bit of a letdown considering how visually appealing Spike's PE is. At a time when the popularity of the Foamposite seems to be on the ropes, going out of your way to drop a shoe that doesn't look like the one sneakerheads have been buzzing about for two years seems like a bad move. They'll still sell, but more because of what they were supposed to be, rather than what they actually are.

UPDATE: We can now confirm that this version of the 'Knicks' Foamposite is an old sample from 2012 that Nike chose not to move forward with. So it's possible that Spike's PE will be the colorway dropping. Which of the two styles do you prefer?
