i dont understand what people see in theese. even if there was a nike swoosh i wouldnt cop. the spaghetti are dope but the silhouette on these is terrble imo.
I don't know your age so you may or may not remember when these were new in 96. What makes it great is that, like most great shoe designs in the 90's, it is very distinctive. The lines are very clean, simple, and effective. You could see the shoe from a distance without a logo and instantly recognize it as the Grant Hill 2. You could have put any logo in there and it would have been a classic.
The thing you younger ones don't get is that this had never been done before when it came out. The reason this and any shoe from that era is so classic is that shoes were a blank slate as far as the color blocking and lines. The zig zag of the Kamikazee, the bug eyed design of the Zoom Flight 95, and the triangle of the Grant Hill 2 were examples of how every shoe that came out at the time was pushing designs beyond anything that had been done before it. I don't envy shoe designers today at all. Despite the new tech available, it has to be almost impossible to make a silhouette that doesn't look generic or like something that's already been out.
