Editors' Picks: The Best Sneakers of the Month

The best releases of November.

1.

With so many sneaker releases happening very month, it's easy to forget what's even come out. Often, the sneaker enthusiast's Saturday pickup is forgotten for next weekend's launch of shoes. But, reflection at each calendar flip can help cement some of those that are worthy of being remembered. Looking for a refresher on all the great sneakers that came out this month? Here, the Sole Collector staff share what were their favorite sneakers that launched in the month of November.

Nike Air Force 1 High "Wheat"

Gerald Flores, Editor-in-Chief

I've never been one to rock boots. Even in the dead of winter, I always prefer a decent wintereized sneaker over a pair of 6-inch Timberlands. Although though these Air Force 1s aren't sneakerboots per se, I really liked how they were a nod to a pair of wheat Timbs with the gum rubber outsole, outdoor green branding on the tongue, and rope laces.

I'm pretty close to being sick of the ASICS Gel Lyte III because of the nonstop collab run going on, but the model thankfully hasn't taken things to Reebok Ventilator levels just yet. I didn't think any of the remaining pairs would really turn my head, but Hanon's "Solstice" is a banger. Revisiting of the "Wildcats" pair, which I recall briefly having in my cart years ago, but this time on the opposite end of the spectrum, is nice. I have an aversion to suede, but this sneaker transcends that.

As a Foamposie fan, I already have an abundancy of colorways. But every once in a while, a pair comes out that really catches my attention. That was the case with the "Hologram" Foamposite One. When I first saw pictures, I knew I was going to cop. But it wasn't until I held them in person that I realized how nice they were. The iridescence throughout the upper, silver accents, and full icy blue translucent outsole made these my favorite Foam release of the year.

Air Jordan 1 "Cyber Monday"

8.

Zac Dubasik, Managing Editor

The Air Jordan 1 is one of the most recognizable and iconic silhouettes in the history of sneakers. There’s nothing what quite says “Air Jordan” like a pair of Black/Red or Black/Royal 1s. And that’s great, until you don’t necessarily want to advertise your love for the brand. Thanks to the “Cyber Monday,” this already clean design was taken to a new level of wearability. It preserved the simple color blocking of the black Pinnacle Air Jordan 1s, but skipped the over-the-top detailing and lofty price tag. I don’t have a bot, which means I missed out this morning. Guess I’ll have to try again when the restock hits.

Air Jordan 8 “Aqua”

10.

Brandon Richard, Senior Writer

When I was a kid, my parents would buy me one colorway of each Air Jordan model. I was sold on “Aquas” being my pick for the Jordan 8 when my 3rd grade classmate Liza showed up to school wearing a pair. The fuzzy tongue, colorful patterns, and cross-straps were all appealing to 9-year-old me. Not only did Jordan Brand bring the classic back, but they made sure it was a little closer to the original pair than the 2007 retro. As someone with an emotional attachment to the shoe, I was happy to see subtle details like the lighter shade of grey and midsole sparkles return. The brand may have not gotten “remastering” perfect this year, but it’s definitely been a step in the right direction.
