Sneaker Watch // Dwight Howard Lifts Lakers to First Win in adidas adipower Howard 3

Dwight's big game helps the Lakers cruise to their first victory of the season.

words // Brandon Richard

Following a rough and unexpected 0-3 start, the Los Angeles Lakers were in search of their first win of the season at home against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday night. Shades of 2004? An ultra-stacked Laker team taking the court against an upset-minded Pistons squad. Tayshaun is still in blue, but a repeat of that Finals result wasn't in the books on this night.

Leading the charge for the Lakers was new center Dwight Howard, who rung up a game high 28 points on 12-of-14 shooting. Howard also added 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocks as Los Angeles cruised to a much needed 108-79 victory.

After starting off the season in the adidas adiZero Howard Light, Dwight has spent the last two games finally lacing up his adipower Howard 3 signature shoe in the "Lakers Home" colorway. The shoe sports a white leather upper with purple working the laces, camo print along the eyestay and collar, inner lining and stripe borders. Black works the SprintFrame chassis and outsole to complete the look.

Why'd it take so long for Dwight to wear the adiPower Howard 3? Perhaps he was just waiting for last week's official unveiling.

The adipower Howard 3 is currently available in four colorways at adidas.com. Enjoy a few game shots below.
