Looking to connect with his biggest fans, Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan held a sneaker design contest using the NIKEiD platform. Fans were asked to design Nike Kobe 9 shoes to match the Raptors’ throwback 20th Anniversary uniforms. Once the entries were in, DeRozan selected five of the designs to wear in the remaining 20th Anniversary Night games, the first of which took place last night.
With the Atlanta Hawks in town, DeRozan played in the purple-based creation of Kevin Xie (@xie888) and dropped 25 points on the night. The next 20th Anniversary Night game is scheduled for Feb. 6 against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Each winner will also receive their design in his or her size.
