Converse goes back in time to find inspiration for its latest round of First String Chuck Taylors.

Known as the "Wetsuit" Collection, this pack features two colorways of the Chuck Taylor All-Star 1970s Hi, that resemble protective, functional wetsuits originally developed in the 70s to keep surfers and divers warm and comfortable in cold water. Coming in either all-black or aquatic blue/black, both pairs feature contemporary neoprene uppers with subtle “seal skin” graphic prints.

Fitted for the harsh winter weather, upgraded tech comes in the form of an innovative, seam-sealed heel stay with fuzzed vertical zippers to allow easy on-off action and a gusseted tongue. Heavyweight black laces, small hits of yellow and glossy ankle patches are also used.

The Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star 1970s Hi "Wetsuit" Collection will release on Friday, Oct. 30 at select Converse First String retailers for $120.
