Scottie Pippen celebrates his 48th birthday today, so the Classic Commercial for this week could feature none other than Scottie in a vintage Nike spot. In this ad, we enter The Flight Dimension, as Scottie laces up the Nike Air Flight Lite II and gets transported back in time to face some easy competition on the court.
At its time in 1992, the Flight Lite II probably could make you feel better than the competition, as it was the lightest Nike basketball shoe on the market. The Flight Lite and Flight Lite II were two of the first shoes associated with Scottie Pippen early in his sponsorship with Nike and rose to stardom as Michael Jordan's main man with the Chicago Bulls. The Flight Lite II Mid was notably worn by Pip during the 1992 Olympics as a member of the Dream Team. In this commercial we see the High version as he laces them up and transports back in time.
