Chicago Inspires Two New adidas D Rose 5 Boost Colorways

New pairs reflect Chicago's frigid winters and blues music culture.

Once again, Derrick Rose’s hometown of Chicago inspires two new colorways of his latest signature shoe, the adidas D Rose 5 Boost.

Highlighted by an embossed satellite print of the city originally introduced on the D Rose 2.5, the ‘Chicago Ice’ colorway sports a black and white look with an ice blue outsole to reflect Chicago’s frigid winters.

During the early 20th century, African-American workers settled in Chicago in search of employment. There, they honed their musical craft, which evolved into Chicago-style blues and influenced modern music. The ‘Woven Blues’ D Rose 5 Boost features a basket woven upper in deep navy, offset by bright orange accents.

‘Chicago Ice’ launches at adidas.com and Foot Locker on Monday, November 24, while the ‘Woven Blues’ hit Wednesday, November 26.
