Staring down the barrel of criticism from the so-called experts entering his rookie campaign, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton exceeded all expectations by a mile, putting up unprecedented statistics and helping the team improve their win total by four games. Newton didn't only clip the old quarterback rushing touchdown record, but he also broke Peyton's Manning's mark for passing yards by a rookie. As a result, Newton was named an NFC Pro Bowler, replacing Eli Manning on the 2012 squad.
Known for his big personality, Cam is standing out in a group full of the game's biggest stars this week due to his footwear. Under Armour's star football athlete is wearing the Highlight CompFit cleat in a Hawaii-flavored yellow and orange color scheme. Making sure the Panthers are still represented, light blue laces help pull the look together.
Cam isn't expected to actually wear these in the game, instead going with a White/Light Blue pair that will help him avoid a call from the league offices. However, he's making the press and promotional rounds in these while he can.
The 2012 NFL Pro Bowl kicks off tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. EST.
