Royal Elastics has announced a new collaborative project with the Andy Warhol Foundation. Included in the limited edition collection are styles featuring multiple periods of Warhol's body of graphic work. Several of Royal Elastics' most popular styles have been reworked for the release.
The Anderson is inspired by the beginnings of Warhol's advertising career, featuring his "Officers' Shoes" ad. Only 400 individually numbered pairs will be made available globally in white and black-based colorways.
Warhol's "Flowers" print is featured on the King Hi and no two pairs will be exactly the same. The individually numbered shoes will be available in white and black.
Lastly, the Decatur showcases Warhol's iconic camo print and his "Will Kill for Peace" slogan on the side. Available in blue and pink camo.
"There are so many reasons why a project with the Warhol Foundation is good for us - the people who run the foundation are wonderful, the organization itself does fantastic work and working with Warhol’s artwork is a joy as much as it is a privilege,” says John Bondoc, Chief Creative Officer of Royal Elastics.
This is the second collaboration between the Warhol Foundation and Royal Elastics; their first joint release in 2006 was internationally recognized as a benchmark for creative synergies between fashion, footwear and traditional art.
“Royal Elastics’ fearless, creative exuberance is contagious. We can’t wait for these new Andy Warhol by Royal Elastics kicks to hit the street,” said Michael Hermann, Director of Licensing at The Andy Warhol Foundation.
All styles are available to purchase now over at Royal Elastics.
Royal Elastics has also launched an Instagram contest, in which six winners will receive a pair from the exclusive collection. Participants must follow Royal Elastics on Instagram (@royalelastics) and upload a photo inspired by Warhol and his life's work. Uploaded photos must mention @RoyalElastics and tag #WarholxRoyalElastics. Contest will end Sunday, July 2. View the flyer below for more information.
