Nike Explains the Hyperchase's Strange Swoosh Angle

Get the details on James Harden's All-Star footwear.

by Brendan Dunne

The Nike Hyperchase isn't an official James Harden shoe, but he is billed as the muse for the design, and he'll certainly be wearing it during the upcoming NBA All-Star game.

The sneaker was designed by Tony Hardman, who designed the Nike Zoom Crusader that Harden has also been attached to. The cocked angle of the Swoosh here is made to level out and "read accurately" when Harden is on his toes, something that happens a fair amount. The Nike Hyperchase focuses on natural motion, forefoot lockdown, and dynamic traction.

This All-Star Nike Hyperchase will be available on Feb. 12, a full breakdown of the design is available via Nike.
