Air Jordan 6 : The Definitive Guide to Colorways

In honor of their 23rd Anniversary, we have decided to take a look at the lineage of the Air Jordan VI.

Originally released in 1991, Michael Jordan wore them en route to his first NBA championship. 2000 saw them get retroed for the first time and helped to introduce new colorways as well as replacing the original ‘Nike Air’ branding with ‘Jumpman’ logos. They were cut in half in 2002, releasing in low top form for the first time as well as in a women’s colorway and sizing.

After a couple one-off releases, 2010 saw the Air Jordan 6 Retro get its first full run with various colorways, both new and old. Fast forward to the present time, 2014 is the year of the VI. We can expect to see plenty of Air Jordan 6 Retro’s as we continue to celebrate this iconic shoe this year. Take a look at the history of the Air Jordan VI from its first release up to the most recent retro below.
