While the Air Jordan 5 "Black Grape" was a flip on an original colorway, the shoe actually changed its materials around too.
Rather than the leather of the original "Grape" Jordan 5s, the shoe featured a synthetic nubuck that was more like the stuff found on the "Black/Metallic" Jordan 5 release. There were a few sample pairs created that did stick with the original leather though.
This pair, coming from the collection of Oregon Sole, is one of them. Aside from the material switch, the shoe very much adheres to the formula of the "Black Grape" retail release. Don't expect this pair to ever hit retail.
