Linking Michael Jordan's status as a cultural icon in the U.S. to the importance of the dragon in Chinese culture, the Air Jordan 2012 is being released in a deluxe "Year of the Dragon" colorway. With 2012 marking the year of the water dragon, the shoe is dressed in dark and blue tones, accented by hits of contrasting yellow that symbolize message of supremacy. The look is accentuated by the dragon wrapped around the Jumpman logo on the tongue.
The Deluxe version of the Air Jordan 2012 includes both low and high-cut innersleeves, as well as three cushioning options. A special triple-tiered red and gold box houses the "Year of the Dragon edition, which will arrive at select retailers on Thursday, February 23.
