adidas Soccer Unleashes The Predator Lethal Zones (1)

words // Brandon Richard

via Press Release

Yesterday, adidas launched the Predator Lethal Zones soccer boot at a unique event pitting some of the world's best players against each other in five challenges designed to test every aspect of the player's ability. The event was created to showcase the full range of capabilities of the Lethal Zones boot, which is comprised of five, super-light rubber and memory foam 3D zones, each designed to support perfect ball control. Leading global stars, including Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko and Manchester United's Luis Nani and Tom Cleverly, took on the challenges and tested their abilities in the latest iteration of the world's most famous soccer boot.

“I’ve been involved in the design process for the new Predator Lethal Zones and I’m excited to see the final product and test it out across the 5 different zones," said Luis Nani. "The boots are light, comfortable and help me with ball control whether I’m passing, shooting or dribbling."

For the first time ever, Predator wearers have the complete weapon of control. "We have been working with elite and amateur players for a number of years, and with Lethal Zones we have taken the Predator to a whole new level,” said Aubrey Dolan, Product Manager for Predator Lethal Zones.

World-class players such as Van Persie (Arsenal FC), Xavi (FC Barcelona), Nasri (Manchester City FC), Nani (Manchester United FC) and Di Maria (FC Real Madrid) have tested and contributed valuable input to the development of Predator Lethal Zones and will debut the boot on pitches across the globe in May 2012.

“If you want to be a top player it's vital that you are an all-rounder and that’s what the new Predator Lethal Zones are about," said Arsenal star Robin Van Persie. "The five areas on the boot cover where players touch and strike the ball and the design works to maximize accuracy, power and control. Based on my opinion, and the opinions of my fellow professional players, adidas have created the new Predator. It's great that they listen to us carefully as we know how it should be and how it should feel and their expertise does the rest.”

This June, the new Predator Lethal Zones football boot will be available at adidas retailers as well as specialty stores worldwide in Bright Blue/Infrared/ Collegiate Navy/White. Wanted to see more close up shots of the actual cleats themselves. But that last page almost makes up for that. Wow, a tech guide, timeline of production, evolution of the line, player insight, and other neat details all on one sheet? Would love to see this level of presentation with other releases.

i love how soccerCleats have been around $300 for the past couple years, that must suck if you play soccer

It blows but theres usually bigass sales on them like at a store in town they sell 300 for 20-30% off. Still expensive, but they are worth it considering they take more beating that basketball shoes
