For a lot of us, the love for sneakers can be traced back to the early 90s, when Will Smith made the leap from Grammy Award winning rapper to TV sitcom star in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. For six seasons, Will not only entertained at the highest level, but also brought the kicks we loved to the small screen. As a result, he's still a celebrated sneaker icon to this day, evident in this Fresh Prince-inspired make-up of Derrick Rose's adidas Rose 3 signature shoe.
You don't have to do too much digging for the colorway inspiration. In fact, you don't even have to look past the opening credits. The combination of Neon Green/Neon Yellow and Blue represents the vibrant clothing worn by Will in the credits and pilot episode. The green upper is embossed with an all-over zig-zag print, while a speckled midsole and blue rubber outsole support the ride below. Fresh Prince style "773" and "South Side" adorn the backs of the tongues, saluting Derrick's hometown of Chicago. Stripes along the insoles pay tribute to Will's pilot episode t-shirt.
