Celebrating the beginning of Chinese New Year on February 10, adidas Basketball is set to launch Derrick Rose's new Rose 3.5 signature shoe in a celebratory "Year of the Snake" colorway.

The shoe features a black synthetic SprintWeb upper with a textured scale pattern to represent snakeskin. SprintFrame is metallic gold to stand out on the court. The translucent outsole, laces and lining are done in turquoise to represent water, the key element for 2013 Chinese New Year. Inside tongue patch features black, gold and turquoise colors surrounding the D Rose logo in various shapes, symbolic of the shoe's spiral inspiration.

Look for the "Year of the Snake" Rose 3.5 next Thursday, January 24 for $160 at adidas.com and other select retailers.

No the Heel cup is made of Metallic Gold. That will come off with time not the toe box.

Nah, not my taste. Backheel design is ugly, color scheme doesn't work and the transition from the toebox to the side is just lazy
