The adidas RG3 Energy BOOST is of course tied to an NFL athlete, but is not intended strictly for football performance purposes.
It would make sense then that shoe's releases aren't confined to the span of the NFL season. Although the sneaker has been slow to release in recent months, but maybe that has to do more with RG3's career arc than it does with timing. This new pair almost looks like a part of adidas' larger "BHM" collection with its sandy gold vibe, plus the colorful application has been used elsewhere on the brand's football offerings in that vein.
