The University of Nebraska and adidas have officially unveiled the new TECHFIT football uniforms that the Cornhuskers will wear on September 29 when they host the University of Wisconsin Badgers at Memorial Stadium. The matchup will mark the very first adidas "Unrivaled Game," an annual game between the brand's top programs. This year's Unrivaled Game featuring the Cornhuskers and Badgers is themed "The Quick and the Red."
Nebraska's TECHFIT uniforms celebrate the Cornhuskers' rich football heritage with a modern update and highlights the history of the famous Nebraska "N." Draped head-to-toe in red, the uniform showcases a bold black "N" on the chest, player numbers above the heart and black stripes on the jersey shoulders and side of pants. The TECHFIT compression base layer features a tonal letter "N" on the sleeves to complete the look.
Black helmets salute the program's Blackshirts legacy and feature a red stripe and block "N." The adiZero Smoke gloves are also adorned by the "N" logo and the team's reflective black adiZero cleats are supported by a red-plated bottom to stand out on the field.
The Cornhuskers' adidas TECHFIT jersey is a complete reconstruction of the standard football jersey with multiple innovations to reduce the weight of the jersey by 30 percent. Technologies include a streamlined fit, new fabric, reduced seams and an ultra-lightweight name and numbering system. Additionally, the TECHFIT jersey keeps players cool with integrated ventilation zones and moisture management fabric. Reduced seams and a restriction-free, high-stretch collar design increases range of motion to support player agility and speed.
