Lionel Messi's sneaker game just got an upgrade in the form of his new adidas Pibe de Barr10 boot design.

The new soccer cleat is inspired by Messi's roots in Argentina, more specifically the Barrio of Las Heras, Rosario that he hails from. The name, which might be slightly confusing to non-Spanish speakers, translates roughly to "kid of the neighborhood." The graphics of the shoe's upper were actually created by graphic artist Ignacio Valentia, who is also from Rosario. Design-wise the sneaker has speed traxion spikes on bottom and 360 DRIBBLETEX coating on the upper that promises a high level of ball control.

Lionel Messi will wear the new adidas Pibe de Barr10 starting this Wednesday, March 18. The cleats will go on sale the following day via adidas.
