When Kobe Bryant left adidas in 2002, he was two models deep into his KOBE signature line. A third model was in the works, but was scrapped when Bryant and adidas decided to part ways. Very few sample pairs of the adidas KOBE 3 exist — and the pair that just hit eBay may be the rarest of them all.

Possibly inspired by Bryant's years at Lower Merion High School, this version is styled in bone and burgundy. The model retained the 'Space Boot' molded synthetic upper of its predecessors, adding an inner bootie, lace cover and what may have been an early working of the HUG system that eventually found a home on the TMAC 4.
