adidas Brings Back Gil Zero, Rebranded Regulate
words // Brandon Richard
Gilbert Arenas' contributions to the sneaker game will probably always be underrated.
Before jumpstarting the current Sole Watch-friendly era of the NBA as The Sneaker Champ, Arenas was a signature athlete with adidas. With the brand, he had signature low-tops before the trend and a variety of PE-style colorways with nicknames before it became the norm. His first and arguably most recognizable shoe was the Gil Zero, which is on its way back in original and new colorways.
Last made available with a full cross-strap as the Elemental Formotion 3 in 2010, the Gil Zero returns as the Regulate. Below is a look at the shoe featuring its original Wizards-inspired perforated white leather upper with chili and blue accents. The adidas logo replaces Gil Zero branding along the midsole and Formotion notation across the tongue. The absence of Formotion print is also due to the fact that this version of the Gil Zero has been re-tooled, as you can tell by the new outsole design.
The Regulate should be hitting stores soon and is available now from id4shoes at eBay.

Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice
Just know that I'm looking down on you smiling
And I didn't feel a thing, So baby don't feel my pain just smile back"
