Without directly saying so, the Jordan Brand acknowledged that the Air Jordan 3 has been overproduced when they decided to temporarily suspend its production back in August. The news sent shockwaves through sneaker community, triggering a split response between enthusiasts who believe less is more and fanatics who can't get enough.
According to our Definitive Guide, 25 different colorways of the Air Jordan 3 have released since 1988. In just the past two years, we've seen 10 new styles added to the lineup. Additionally, each original colorway has been re-released at least twice and as many four times.
Though those numbers may be a bit surprising, just as many colorways never made it past the sample stage. From look-sees to Niketown displays, we've put together a gallery of Air Jordan 3 samples that never hit the production line. Scroll through and let us know which pair you'd like to see release when the classic returns remastered in the future.
