While Kyrie Irving mulls over his future, his signature sneakers continue to surface in new colorways.
Next up for the Nike Kyrie 5 is a sleek colorway reminiscent of the Kyrie 2 he laced up when the Cleveland Cavaliers pulled off the ultimate comeback against the Golden State Warriors in Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals. The shoe is primarily styled in black, with metallic gold accent hits and, a white midsole and gold speckle on the outsole.
Nike hasn't yet revealed the full story behind this colorway, but its release date is set for June 16, potentially Game 7 of this season's NBA Finals and exactly three years after Irving helped lead the Cavaliers past the Warriors in Game 6 to force a Game 7. It may very well have nothing to do with the championship, but its arrival is timely either way. More on this drop in the coming weeks.
UPDATE (06/01): Here are official shots of the upcoming Nike Kyrie 5 in the black and gold colorway slated to release on June 16 for $130.
