Like his friend Chris Paul, LeBron James is dedicating a colorway of his signature sneaker to Martin Lawrence's iconic 90s sitcom Martin.
The upcoming Nike LeBron 16 bears a purple Battleknit upper, contrasting crimson and yellow laces, a black heel and graphic work inspired by the show's famous intro, posters and DVD covers. Longtime friend Frankie Walker confirmed the nod to Martin, James' favorite TV show, on Instagram.

While a release date hasn't officially been announced, there is a Court Purple/Tour Yellow LeBron 16 listed for Apr. 16 on Foot Locker's release calendar, which many hoped would be a true Lakers colorway, but may very well end up being this "Martin" pair. UPDATE 4/6:Nike confirms the release of the "Martin" LeBron 16, which features several of the show's famous catch phrases debossed into the heel. Release date is set for April 16 at a retail price of $185.
