Nike has officially unveiled its extensive Black History Month collection for 2019.
This year's lineup will feature 11 pairs: a NikeCourt Flare 2.0, LeBron 16, Kyrie 5, PG 3, KD 11, Jordan Why Not Zer0.2, Air Jordan 2, Air Jordan 1 Mid, Air Force 1 Utility, and two colorways of the Converse Chuck 70.
Like previous iterations from the annual range that began back in 2005, these pairs primarily utilize black and white color schemes with gold accents. Common details across each include bright hits of color, Nike's special "BHM" logo, and all-over prints inspired by traditional African patterns.
"In sport, there’s a movement happening where athletes are inviting others to discover the full side of who they are, through finding their voices and improving their communities," said Senior Creative Director for Nike Basketball Jonathan Johnsongriffin in an official press release. "We wanted that movement to inspire this year’s design."
To coincide with the release, Nike will also be launching the Future Varsity program in Atlanta on Jan. 18, a six-month long initiative to provide mentorship to 14 young African Americans.
Expect Nike's "BHM" lineup to hit retailers sporadically in the upcoming weeks, with most pairs arriving on Feb. 1 and Feb. 2. In the meantime, take a closer look at all of the pairs below.
