A guest speaker at today's Wired 25th Anniversary event in San Francisco, Nike Vice President of Design and Creative Concepts Tinker Hatfield spoke about how he became a sneaker designer, saving Nike's relationship with Michael Jordan, the future of footwear and unveiled an all-new running shoe from Jordan Brand on-foot.

Described by Hatfield as "running shoe for people who don't like to run," the upcoming model features increased stability in the form of a nylon-constructed lattice frame and external heel fins that aid slower runners more likely to bounce back on their heels. While not mentioned in the clip, a zoom in on the tongue reveals the shoes is cushioned by React. Hatfield, designer of the runner, says the idea is for this shoe to take Jordan beyond the basketball category and into the red hot running business.

While the shoe doesn't have an official name yet, Hatfield dubs it the Jordan GOAT, a play on Michael Jordan's general designation as the Greatest of All-Time. According to Hatfield, the "GOAT" sneaker is being prepped for retail and has already been shown to retailers.
