Vans' latest collaboration celebrates the 90th anniversary of Disney's iconic Mickey Mouse character with four unique takes on the Sk8-Hi.
For the special project, Vans tapped artists John Van Hamersveld, Mister Cartoon, Geoff McFetridge, and Taka Hayashi to interpret the character with their own original designs and corresponding color palettes. Drawings appear on the side panels, while the remainder of the shoe is covered in a matching suede.
Examples include Mister Cartoon's pair that features a black suede upper with a black-and-white drawing that places a smiling Mickey in a vintage low rider—a look that embodies the tattoo artist's signature Los Angeles style. Hayashi's shoe opts for various shades of blue and displays a Mickey-inspired hot air balloon graphic. A matching T-shirt was created for each design as well.
The entire Vans Vault x Disney "Mickey Mouse 90th Anniversary" collection releases at select Vans Vault retailers on Saturday, Aug. 25 for $78-$100.
