Nike's attempt at releasing two pairs from Virgil Abloh's "The Ten" collaboration via @NikeNYC on Twitter on Thursday was a confusing and frustrating episode. The brand had planned to give Twitter followers a chance at the Presto and Air Max 90 from the pack, but ended up basically postponing the release after a few blunders.

It began on Nov. 8, when Nike wrote that it would hold an online draw for the shoes on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 5 p.m. EST. It followed up that tweet with a series of apologetic replies explaining that the release would happen at 6 p.m. instead.

The Draw for "The Ten" Nike Air Presto and "The Ten" Air Max 90 release at NikeLab 21M takes place tomorrow Thursday, 11.9 at 5pm EST. pic.twitter.com/zlIm5LucJg
The Draw will open at 6pm EST. We apologize for the confusion.

At 6 p.m., a tweet with a link was posted, but the link mostly generated errors for those trying to enter for a chance to buy the shoes, and in turn a stream of angry responses on Twitter. @NikeNYC eventually deleted the tweet with the link and replaced it with the one below.

We’re looking forward to bringing The Ten: Nike Air Presto and The Ten: Nike Air Max 90 to you. Stay tuned for more information.

So, then, when is this release actually happening? Nike's hasn't provided any updates, instead telling the many users reaching out to @NikeNYC for explanation to "stay tuned."

The Virgil Abloh x Nike "The Ten" pack had a pre-launch in September, and is getting a wider release in November. In addition to being available directly through Nike, the shoes will be stocked by the accounts listed here.

UPDATE: Nike has issued an official statement regarding the cancellation of this week's draw. You can read it here.
