11-year old Portland native Brody Miller was diagnosed with complex dural arteriovenous fistula, a brain malformation. His fight hasn't stopped him from pursuing his dreams, like becoming a comic book artist. With his work on the Doernbecher Freestyle Nike Air More Uptempo, Miller is bringing a personal character to life.
The blue-based colorway is inspired by "Generator Man," an alter ego created by Miller with the powers of mind control and the ability to shoot healing powers out of his hands. Iconic 'AIR' lettering on the sides has been changed to 'BPM,' which represents both Beats Per Minute and Brody Preston Miller. A glow-in-the-dark outsole reveals the words 'BE STRONG.'
“With all my surgeries, I’ve had to be really strong,” Miller explains.
The Doernbecher Freestyle Air More Uptempo will release on Saturday, Nov. 18 for $160 at nike.com and select Nike retailers.
