Yesterday, Nike Special Project Engineer and Senior Innovator Tiffany Beers confirmed that she's leaving the company. She'll be taking a new position with Tesla.

Beers bid farewell to Nike in an Instagram post, stating that her last day was last Friday. She reflected on 13 successful years in the caption.

"I am so very grateful for every opportunity the brand has given me," said Beers. "I will forever cherish my time at Nike. Sport and Nike have always been a big and important part of my life and will continue to be. This brand has impacted my life in ways i never thought possible. To everyone who helped me along the way, THANK YOU!"

In her time at Nike, Beers helped and led some of the company's biggest projects, most recently developing the auto-lacing Nike Mag and HyperAdapt 1.0. She also had a hand in bringing Kanye West's Yeezy series to life.

Though the parting appears to be amicable, one cannot overstate how massive a loss this is for Nike, which is looking to regain past dominance in the footwear market. There's no reason to believe that Beers won't continue to thrive as she takes on her next challenge.
